Dr. Jürgen M. Geißinger became chairman of the managing board of Schaeffler Group in 1998. He is also President and CEO of Schaeffler KG.

Dr. Jürgen M. Geißinger was born in 1959 and studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart where he also received his doctorate in engineering in 1989. He became an assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute in 1985.

In 1991, he began his industrial career at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, and a year later he became the director of manufacturing technology at ITT Automotive. In 1994 he became director of the electronic brake systems division at this company and then brake systems executive director in 1996. He became a member of the managing board of ITT Industries Europe and senior vice president of ITT Automotive in Auburn Hills in 1997. His duties here included worldwide responsibility for brakes and chassis technology.
